Valentines Day? I don't buy it.

Hi guys,

Well we are quickly approaching one of the many days of the year that I just can't get my head around : Valentines Day.

You are now most likely thinking two things:

1: I am single and a man-hater.

               or

2: I am in a loveless relationship.

Well both are completely wrong.
I have been in the most amazing relationship for the past 8 years and I have never been happier.
I have truly met my match and it's an amazing thing that I truly hope everyone finds.

I'm a hopeless romantic but I don't need a calender to tell me when I can unleash my love upon my other half.
Sounds a bit violent doesn't it?
Instead I treat everyday like it's "Valentines day" and I always make it very clear how I feel to my other half.

So what I don't understand is why people buy into February 14th.
You will either allow this day to make you feel bad because you're single or else you will force yourself to "make the effort" for your other half.
If you feel you have to "make the effort" I personally don't think you should bother.
If you haven't made any effort recently why should you start now?
Why on this day over the other 364 days in the year?
Because everyone else is doing it?
That ain't a very good reason now is it!

Did you know "making an effort" doesn't have to cost you a penny?
If you are in a relationship and you want your other half to know how you feel about them you know what you should do?

Tell them.
Show them.
Make them a card or a cake.
Easy.

I personally recommend the cake option because the majority of the time they will share it with you!
Winning.

Going out and buying a generic Valentines Day card is completely predictable.
Also if you are thinking about buying a ton of roses to go with that card, you will be out a whole lot of cash.
Instead, why not pick any day of the year and do something nice like hiding Malteasers in your other halfs bag or leaving little notes in their pockets when they aren't looking.

I truly believe that love is one of the most powerful things and it can turn your life upside down in all of the right ways.
It can make you believe in things that you never thought possible and it will change your life.
Show those you love how you feel every day of the week and not just when the world tells you to.

Much love,

Ciara.
