"That don't quite gel with me I'm afraid"

When I think of a product I'd like to splurge on, the last thing that would enter my mind would be shower gel.
Shower gel to me is a bit like washing up liquid or soap : you can spend like €20 on it but why the hell would you bother?
If you spend €2 or €20 you are pretty much gonna end up with the same thing now aren't ya?

Sometimes I don't even use shower gel.
Instead I'll be a total rebel and grab some bath essence or whatever I have lying around.
I understand splurging on shampoo which will affect the condition of your hair, moisturiser/skincare because it will affect the condition of your skin but shower gel?
Really?
You use it to simply wash your body.
It's not like its anti-ageing, contains SPF or is in any way moisturising.
Quite the opposite actually.

So what put in this in my mind I hear you ask?
Well I was sent a designer branded shower gel to review and I was horrified to discover that it usually sells for €15!
Like our country doesn't have enough problems already!

So the verdict on this €15 shower gel?

It smells OK, not magnificent or life changing in any way and it hasn't changed my perception on shower gels in the slightest.
I actually use it after the gym so it's not like I'm saving it for special occasions.

So the point I am making is I believe you should fork out an extra bit for great products.
Designer shower gels in my opinion just aren't one of them.
