Well over the last few weeks, I have been trying out some really great lip products that I wanted to share with you.
May the drool-fest begin!
1: Lush lip scrubs.
"Chapped lips be gooonnnnnee you heathen!"
It's no secret that I'm a lover of pretty much anything "Lush" but these bad boys are truly an innovation.
So what's so great about them?
Well, you better pull up a chair cause this might go on for while.
- They come in a range of flavours to suit all palettes (yes you can eat them but that's the next point so hang tight).
- They're edible and Lush actually advise on the jar that you give them an auld taste.
- They're simple and easy to use. Just put a small amount on the tip of your finger, rub over your lips and then lick off the excess (or wipe away with a cotton pad if you aren't that hungry)
- Made with only natural ingredients and most importantly are NOT tested on animals.
- Finally, they sell for around €6 and I would rate them 10 out of 10. They live very happily in my kit and my clients and I both love 'em.
2: Clarins "Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector".
Clarins have really mastered making good quality lip glosses/gels that aren't glittery, sticky or generally annoying.
I was a bit confused about the name of this product when I first started using it but after a few days, it all made sense.
So as I mentioned above, this is a lip gel and it apparently contains 3D shimmer (important to note shimmer not glitter) which is supposed to give the illusion of fuller lips.
That may sound like a load of nonsense but this product genuinely does give your lips that extra bit of umph without going down the trout pout route.
Trout pout.
Poor trout.
Isn't it funny that even looking at a picture of a trout, the whole "trout pout" thing doesn't really make any sense sure it doesn't?
And have you ever wondered, do trouts ever get mistaken for the likes of Melanie Griffith, Jordan or any of those lads?
Hmmm the world really is a funny place.
*sigh*
Anyway what was I saying?
Oh yeah lip stuff, serious blogger etc.
This lip product looks great on its own but I prefer to put it over a coral coloured lipstick.
As far as I remember, it sells for around €21 and I would definitely get this product again.
And if you're not sold yet, I forgot to mention one thing : it kind of smells like marshmallows.
'Nuff said?
Thought so.
3: Yves Saint Laurent "Volupte Sheer Candy".
I'm not gonna lie, when I first saw this product I didn't expect much for some reason.
When I think of a luxury branded lipstick, I tend to think of strong colours, rich textures and a bit of drama.
This product is none of those things but I was surprised how much I loved wearing it.
It's a lip sheen so if you are looking for full colour, you might want to give this one a miss.
In alot of ways, this product reminds me of the Clarins "Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Balms".
They are both light in texture, moisturising on the lips and have a soft hint of colour.
Again this product can be worn by itself for a natural look or over a lip colour for something a bit stronger.
I love wearing Ben Nyes "Guava Blush" cream blusher as a lipstick and then put this bad boy on top.
Available in 12 shades, there's a shade to suit everyone and it smells pretty magnificent to boot.
And finally don't forget, in a tight spot it can double up as a cream blusher or in a really really tight spot, maybe a glossy eyeshadow.
This product will cost you around €27 but will give you a whole lot of joy.
So tell me : have you locked lips with anything interesting recently?
