Well as someone who has a "once a month relationship" with a bottle of bleach to keep my locks orange, I have learnt a very valuable lesson.
There is a secret post-bleaching to help you look more like Veronica Lake instead of ending up like poor old Worzel Gummidge.
That secret is using a good quality hair treatment.

So here are my Top Five Tried and Tested Hair Treatments for coloured hair.
No.1 : Wella Brilliance Treatment.
This is one of my favourite hair treatments for good reason.
I would usually use this product after I have dyed my hair and it's in a bit of a fragile state.
You just apply it with your fingers throughout your hair and then I tend to wrap it up in clingfilm.
It might sound a bit odd but it keeps your hair out of the way while you have the treatment in.
Also a hairdresser friend of mine told me the heat it generates when it's wrapped up makes the treatment work even better.
Could be completely false but it works for me.
You can pick this treatment up in most salon supply stores and it sells for around €12.
I strongly recommend this product and I am constantly repurchasing it.
No.2: Hair Doctor from LUSH.
I have said it before and I will say it again, LUSH make some of the best hair treatments around and they are super affordable.
Some of the key ingredients that make up this product are seaweed, Irish moss powder, coconut oil and much more.
It is a deeply moisturising treatment that genuinely strengthens your hair and leaves it feeling super healthy.
I love that you put this treatment in your hair before you wash it.
It saves you having to wash your hair, then apply the treatment, wash it out etc, which can be a bit of a pain if you are in a hurry.
This product sells for around €10 and don't forget to keep it in your fridge.
No.3: Kerastase Ultime Elixir.
I was given a bottle of this product over two years ago and I love using it.
I have been using it at least twice a week since I got it and it's only just running out now.
It's a super rich luxurious oil that you can either apply to wet hair before you dry it or to dry hair before you style it.
You just need about two pumps of the oil and apply it all over your hair mainly focusing on the ends which is where it tends to be quite dry.
Your hair then feels like you have just been to the hairdressers.
Love it.
It tends to sells for around €30 which isn't the cheapest but considering it has lasted me two years, I think that is a fair enough price don't you?
No. 4: H'Suan Wen Hua from LUSH.
This is one of those products that I will never learn how to pronounce correctly but trust me, it's amazing.
It comes in a large 225g tub which will last you a long time and it has a gorgeous super creamy consistency.
Some of the ingredients include avocado oil, fresh watercress, fresh free range eggs and olive oil to name a few.
Just apply it after you have washed your hair and leave it in for about 20mins or do what I do and leave it in for an hour.
You will see a difference in your hair after the first use.
The one thing I would say is that it has a fragrance that mightn't be to everyones taste but it doesn't bother me.
It sells for around €15 and does exactly what it says on the tin.
Can't argue with that.
No.5: Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Oil.
This gorgeous looking product is a multi-purpose oil that can be used on your skin as well as in your hair.
It's a luxurious product that smells amazing and feels gorgeous on your skin.
I use this product in the same way as the Kerastase oil and apply it to my hair when wet.
As it's an oil, it's super moisturising as well as strengthening your hair.
A bottle of this would put you back just under €50 but if you are using it on your skin and your hair, you will definitely get your moneys worth.
