OK confession time.
I've been sent quite a few BB/CC/EE/FF(fucks sake) creams over the last few months to review but I didn't try them out.
It's not because I didn't want to but the lightest shade is always so dark that I can't bear to put something three shades too dark for me on my face.
Not even for research purposes!!
I've no idea how a shade equivalent to an NC30 is supposed to be considered light!
Finally the day came when a BB cream arrived that was both wearable and gorgeous!
Here it is!
L'Occitane Precious BB Cream
So a BB cream is basically a fancier version of the classic old tinted moisturiser.
The aim is that it still helps to conceal any blemishes, even out high pigmentation whilst looking more natural than a foundation.
I've never found a tinted moisturiser I could truly stand behind and the same went for a BB cream.
I can genuinely say that this product is very special indeed and I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on!
If your skin is borderline translucent like mine, the shades available are perfect!
For a change they have great lighter shades but they don't have a dark one for some reason.
The three shades currently available are:
01 : Fair (which is the one in the picture).
02 : Light.
03 : Medium.
I really can't say how surprised I was that they had a shade to suit my skin tone.
I'd say it's the equivalent of an NC15/NC20.
I've worn it a couple of times so far and I was surprised that it actually gave me the bit of coverage I needed whilst making my skin look really fresh and healthy.
My inner sceptic of BB Creams died a little I'm not gonna lie!
I'm so used to wearing YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation with a bit of Vichy Dermablend where I need it so I don't think I would replace them for this product.
What I would do is use it on my lazy "wearing a hoody, watching Youtube videos until I can't see straight and drinking obscene amounts of coffee" days.
It comes in a 40ml tube and you really only need to use the smallest amount so it will last you quite a while.
It also has SPF 30 in it which would be perfect if you're off on your holliers and you want a bit of something on your face.
So if you've been scarred by shoddy BB Creams in the past like me, I would totally recommend giving this one a try.
It's available from the 19th of March and will retail for €35.
