Smashbox Double Exposure and Full Exposure Palette Swatches and Review.

A few weeks ago while casually strolling through Boots in Dundrum armed with a basket full of products I really didn't need, I came across the Smashbox counter.
More importantly I came across the Double Exposure and Full Exposure eyeshadow palettes and my heart started going all aflutter.
You know that "is there any way I could possibly afford it? *with a bead of sweat running down your back*" feeling?
I really wanted to buy them but I was well over my imaginary monthly palette budget so I had to stick with what was in my basket already and leave immediately before I found anything else to fall in love with.
Smashbox kindly sent me these two palettes to review which pretty much made my month so after giving them a good test, here they are.

 Double Exposure

This palette is armed with 14 shades that cover warm and cool tones as well as matte and metallic textures.
I'm instantly drawn to the warm shades on the right hand side which are a gorgeous brown, burgundys and light gold.
Warm shades suit pretty much everybody and are much easier colours to wear so they're my personal favourite!

The texture of the shadows are all super soft and they nearly feel slightly more like a cream instead of a powder.
The pigment and colour pay-off of all of the shadows are amazing which you can clearly see below.

Row 1 : Silver, Mauve, Peony and Blanc.

Row 1: Quartz, Flushed and Veiled.

These shades are perfect warm toned highlighters!

Row 2 : Midnight, Temper, Haze and Noir.

Just look at that black!!!

Row 2 : Copper, Fig and Espresso.

These three are my personal favourites!

Overall it's a very usable and wearable palette which gives you a great selection of shades to play around with.
It sells for €44 on counter as well as in Boots.

Full Exposure

The Full Exposure palette is kind of like the Double Exposures slightly more glamorous stepsister.
They have similarities but old Full Exposure kind of has her life sorted out and always looks great!

Again this palette has 14 shades and on the left are the warm tones and to the right are the cool ones.
I'll give you 17 million guesses to find out which ones I prefer!!
The top layer are all pretty full on glittery shades except the middle one which is a more subtle metallic.
My advice when using the glittery shades would be to either use an eyeshadow primer/paint pot underneath them or apply them wet.
I tried one of them dry and I noticed that alot of the colour fell down overtime and didn't look great at all.
But with a bit of somethin' somethin' underneath, they look awesome one!

The matte browns on the bottom row are literally everything you'd need to create anything from a light "too tired to do shite" look to something more dramatic.
I absolutely love them and they're the kind of colours I use on pretty much all of my clients.
Check out the swatches below is you're still on the fence!

Row 1 : Shimmer 1-4.

 Row 1 : Shimmer 5-7.

 Row 2 : Matte 1-4.

Row 3 : Matte 5-7.

For €44 I really don't think you could do much better or want much more.
Out of the two, the Full Exposure palette is the one I would use more in my kit.
The double ended brush that comes with the palette is amazing and has a blendy side aswell as a flat brush side to apply the shimmer.
The brush that comes with the Double Exposure palette isn't as great.
It has a smudgey side and a small soft angled on the other end.
The smudgey end is awesome but the one side is a bit......meh!

So what do you think?
