It's quite rare that I find a skincare product that I'm genuinely impressed by.
I can't actually remember the last time it happened which is a bit sad.
Mediocre products?
Hell the beauty industry's full of them but I've no time for such nonsense.
Shiseido is one of those brands that I'd always heard a lot about but I'd never gotten the chance to try their products.

Straight off the bat I love the fact that the brand has been around since 1872, twenty years before the first issue of Vogue was published.
Isn't that amazing?
That shows that they're here for the long haul and even through everything that's happened in the last 14 decades, they've survived, prospered and are still going strong.
Also the fact that they're Japanese rates them pretty high in my book as I have a lifelong fascination with anything from Japan.

So a few weeks back, I started using the "Ibuki Protective Moisturiser with SPF 15".
The Ibuki range targets the effects of UV rays, dryness, pollution and stress.
All the good stuff.
First impressions?
I love the packaging : simple and practical the way all skincare products should be.
It comes in a 75ml bottle which is a decent size and has a small pump dispenser.
It smells divine.
Like proper divine.

It's quite mild but has a lovely fresh and slightly floral scent.
You only need one pump of product for each use and the cream has a really light consistency.
It's not thick and it won't suffocate your pores as some other creams do.
The cream disappears into your skin in a matter of seconds and is just left feeling refreshed.
Like it's been given a hot cup of tea and a jaffa cake after a long day.

The weird thing was that I genuinely noticed a difference in my skin after using this cream for just a few days.
My skin seemed to have gotten back it's natural glow which tends to get lost as easily as your car keys these days.
I'm quite in awe of this product which sounds rather strange but it's the truth.
Who wouldda thought it : a product that does exactly what it says on the tin......
