Ok so I'm talking about Hardcore music.
I don't know what you were thinking the title meant!

Hardcore is a a hybrid mix of old school punk.....and well lots of other things.
I'm not going to get into too much detail because that's not what Hardcore is about (and also I'm just not too sure).
Hardcore is one of the most brutally honest types of music I've ever come across and my love affair with music has spanned the last 20years.
The main themes covered in Hardcore tend to be life experiences good and bad, sticking up for yourself in tough situations, doing what you love and being yourself no matter what happens.
I'll be honest with you : a few years ago I was just the girlfriend of a guy who loved Hardcore (my love heart Paul).
Paul has always been so inspired by Hardcore but I just didn't really get it.
It's not that I didn't like it it's just that I didn't understand it.
By just listening to Hardcore, it sounds really aggressive, heavy and the uneducated mind would think they are just trying to incite violence.
What it's really trying to do is quite the opposite.
Hardcore vocalists tends to sing about some pretty traumatic experiences that they've been through and what kept them going.
That's a type of honesty that you just don't come across these days.
These guys are saying "yeah I've been hurt, I've been hurt really badly but I'm here and I'm stronger than ever".
It doesn't get much more inspiring than that!
And now after actually really listening to the music, I'm officially a girl who loves Hardcore!

So anyways here are some of my favourites:
Terror "Hard Lessons".
Terror hail from Los Angeles and have been together for around 12 years.
The vocalist Scott Vogel lyrics are just so brutally honest and I really think he's amazing.
Terror have so many amazing songs but at the moment this is one of my favourites.
Agnostic Front.
So I'm weak, I couldn't just pick one Agnostic Front song so instead I picked three.
The band have been around since 1982 and they're just awesome.
I saw them play for the first time recently and it was hands down one of the best gigs I've ever been to.
"Gotta Go"
"Addiction"
"For my Family"
Hatebreed "Perseverance".
Not much needs to be said about Hatebreed.
I've seen them play about three times and they always blow me away.
This songs a keeper for sure!
