6: Eye pencils.
Eye liners are perfect for when you want to create an eye look in a small amount of time.
You don't need to spend a ton of time messing around with shadows and blending and blending and blending.
You can just apply some eye pencil all over the lid and just smudge to your hearts content.
Quick, easy and looks great.
You can also make it as strong or as subtle as you like.
You can also make it as strong or as subtle as you like.
They're great little multi-taskers too and should you want to create a black lip but are minus the black lipstick, give your eye liners a shot.
7: Blot Powder.
I used to hear blot powders thrown around in conversation alot and I hadn't a bloody clue what they were.
My instinct reaction was "how can I possibly need another powder in my kit?" but you know what?
I actually did.
I actually did.
Blot powder are the wrestlers of the makeup world : strong, intense and super useful when you're in a tight spot.
I would mainly use them for TV work when the studio lights are really intense or for catwalk shows.
Any situation when the lighting is really strong or when the person you are applying the makeup on will get quite warm but still needs to look great.
I would mainly apply the powder with a small sponge and gently just dab in on where needed.
Again just remember this is some heavy duty stuff and is not to be mistaken as a normal face powder.
It's available in 5 different shades and is definitely worth having in your kit.
8:Lipsticks.
To be completely honest MAC lipsticks are pretty hard to fault.
They come in a wide range of shades, textures and different finishes like matte etc.
They're great for Makeup Artists and Makeup lovers alike and they're constantly bringing out new ones which gets my heart all a flutter every time.
The cherry-on-top is the fact that they're great value and as far as I remember they are around €18 which for a luxury branded lipsticks in great.
Don't forget to keep your empty lipstick tubes or any other MAC empties for that matter.
8 of them will get you a new lipstick for free.
9: Sculpting powder/blushers
OK so it would appear we are in the age of the contour as it's no longer something to be terrified of and we have all given it a shot at some time or another.
For me, blushers and a good bronzer/contour powder are a pretty crucial part to a makeup look.
A maker or a breaker for sure!
A maker or a breaker for sure!
Blusher has the power to change your life and I understand how ridiculous that sounds but I truly believe it.
Finding the right tone of blusher to suit your skin will change how you see yourself and make you look like you just came back from the most awesome holiday.
MAC have a great range of cream and powder blushers which you can also get them in a palette in you feel so inclined.
Again I think the blushers are around €20 and unless you drop them, you should have them for a large part of your lifetime.
10: Studio Fix Compact.
In a sense you could say I've saved the best for last.
Meet a famous Makeup Artist "go-to" product.
MAC's Studio Fix Compact is basically a powder foundation compact.
I mainly use it for touch-ups on photoshoots like when a model rubs her nose and you have two secs to fix it before they have to shoot.
A small amount of this product on either a sponge or a small brush will fix the problem and you're good to go.
It comes in a really wide range of colours to suit every skin colour and tone.
It's also available in a white which is good fun if you want to create something a bit different.
As far as I remember these guys sell for like €30 but again once you don't drop them, you will pretty much have them forever.
Well they're my "might-not-be-able-to-live withouts", what are yours?
