If you're not a Father Ted fan, you mightn't get the title of todays blog.
Anyway it's all about the daunting task of getting fitted for a bra.
Can you believe that around 85% of women have never had a bra fitting??
Crazy stuff.
My first bra fitting was back when I was a teenager and of course at the age of 13, you're completely mortified at the prospect of someone going at you with a measuring tape.
After that experience, I didn't go for another fitting for about 8 years.
Our bodies are constantly changing and I think we forget that our breasts do too.
I impulsively went for my first proper bra fitting as an adult in Marks & Spencers.
I was on my lunch break and decided to just go for it.
And you know what?
It was the most painless experience and I can't believe I put it off for so long.
I had been wearing the wrong size for years and it had actually been affecting my breathing.
Now I go for a fitting about 3 times a year.
So what does a fitting involve?
No you don't have to strip naked (and if you do you might be escorted out).
You just have to take off your top and then the fitter will measure you for the correct cup and back size.
Takes two seconds. The fitter will then bring you a few different styles to try and see what ones you like.
Every time I have been for a fitting in Marks and Spencers, the fitters are always so nice and I end up having a great chat with them.
One fitter I went to last year was amazing and when she saw my tattoos she said "My son would love you".
Great way to break the ice.
If your bra doesn't fit you correctly:
- It can cause you alot of discomfort.
- It can make you look bigger than you actually are.
- It can affect your posture.
- Make you feel a bit crap about yourself.
- It can affect your breathing.
Benefits of a properly fitted bra?
There are endless benefits!
- Good posture.
- Lots and lots of comfort.
- Make you feel a million dollars.
- Make you look thinner.
So ladies do yourselves a favour and get yourself fitted.
