Coconut Oil

This little multi-tasker needs no introduction and it's a "bargain beauty buy" if ever I knew of one.
I use it for cooking instead of standard oil and also as a moisturiser.
I'd heard it was great for your hair so I decided to put it to the test.
I had bleached my roots and my scalp did not appreciate this gesture.
In return, it became really itchy, flaky and generally a bit pissed off.
Solution?
I took a chunk of coconut oil, rubbed it directly onto my scalp and left it in for about an hour before I washed it out.
Problem solved.

I just started reading "Coco Chanel : The Legend and The Life" by Justine Picardie and I absolutely love it.
I'm fascinated with designers like Elsa Schiaparelli, Christine Dior and Coco Chanel.
Designers that existed around the time of Second World War.
Reading about these wonderful minds, you feel transported back to the 1930's/1940's, a time filled with glamour that is no longer heard of as well as hardship and suffering.
Compared to modern times, it feels not just like a different era but a different planet altogether.

Kris Barnas

Kris Barnas is one of the most wonderful tattoo artists I have come across in my 8 years as a tattoo enthusiast.
I first got tattooed by him back in June and have since been back to him 3 times.
Hard to get enough of a good thing.
His overall style is hard to put into words but he possesses such an abundance of talent, skill and passion for what he does.
He works out of Wild Cat in Stephens Green Shopping Centre and you can check out some of his work on his Facebook page below:

Looking forward to getting some more work done by him very soon.

Married with Children

I used to love this show as a kid.
The funny thing is I appreciate it a million times more now that I actually understand the jokes.
Ah the ignorance of adolescence.
I watched the first season over two evenings and when I finished the last episode I was genuinely devastated.
Season two is on its' way though so we won't fret too much.
Every episode is pure comedy gold.

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar

I've been a huge fan of these products since I came across them at IMATS in London a few years back.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics are a vegan friendly brand and their lip tars have become a cult product with good reason.
They come in a wide variety of shades that span a selection of wearable pinks to more dramatic colours like primary yellow.
I find them so handy for photoshoots/shows because they're long lasting, highly pigmented and you only need to use a drop.
A few weeks back I went online to order one or two of these for my kit.
Ended up buying 9.
I have no self-control when it comes to brightly coloured cosmetics.
I'm OK with that.

Dali Jewels

Were you aware that Salvador Dali designed magnificent pieces of jewellery as well as being one of the most famous surrealism painters?
Neither did I.
I knew he collaborated with Designer Elsa Schiaparelli and created some wonderful pieces of clothing/hats but the jewellery was news to me.
I picked up this great book in an art shop in Dublin and for me this is eye candy in its purest form.
The pieces are just mind-blowing.
The details in each design are unbelievable considering some of them were created around 70 years ago.
It's just a great book and if you want something shiny to obsess over, I strongly recommend it.

Lisa Lu "Geisha" hat

My very good friend Lisa Lu has been busy creating some wonderful hats this year and the "Geisha Hat" is my personal favourite.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a bit obsessed with it but it's with good reason.
The shape and style is just so beautiful and it's been executed perfectly.
Big things are in store for this lovely lady and you can check out her website on the link below:
